Meet the Blogger and their Weather Clock - Laura from The Indigo House

This week we are talking to interiors blogger Laura from The Indigo House

Can you tell us a bit about your blog please?

My blog The Indigo House is a continuation of my Instagram account, where I focus on the interiors within my home and how I’ve achieved them. I believe that you don’t have to spend a fortune on making your home beautiful and this is the message I like to send.

What's your favourite room in the house and why?

Well that’s a tough one as I have favourite rooms for different reasons! I love my living room as it’s somewhere I can really relax, there are some lovely corners that, as the sun moves around the house throughout the day are great places to sit and take 5. But then we are currently re decorating our kitchen so I have a feeling this might be my favourite room once it’s finished!!

Where do you hang your Bramwell Brown Weather Clock and why?

I have my beautiful clock just above my desk area at the far end of the kitchen. There’s a couple of reasons I’ve placed it here, my children absolutely love the clock, so as they’re eating their breakfast each morning they will look and see how the weather is looking for the day! Also I need an inspirational space to work in and this beautifully designed clock certainly provides that! Lastly it’s a real talking point, people will always comment as they gather in the kitchen.

Can you sum your Bramwell Brown Weather Clock up in three words?

Captivating, mesmerising, beautifully designed, ok that’s technically four but it’s hard to narrow it down!

Any tips for incorporating clocks into your interior design?

I think there are different ways in incorporating clocks into interiors, it can be hung as a stand alone piece taking all the glory or it could be displayed with some other carefully curated items in a gallery wall style. Mine has a shelf just below so this allows the clock to stand out as it’s the only wall mounted item, but the other pieces on the shelf help bring the space together.

What are the big interior trends that we should be looking out for in 2019?

I think a big trend for 2019 is neutrals, Beige is the new Black! The cooler shades are taking a break and it’s all about the warm neutrals. This is a trend that I love and am focussing on in the redecoration of our kitchen which we are working on at the moment!

Finally, we love mechanical/ analogue objects; what mechanical/ analogue do you have in your home or remember from your childhood that you love(d)?

I remember the turntable and vinyls from my childhood, my dad had a great collection. Our friends have just purchased a turntable, we love going round and taking it in turn to choose which to put on next, it’s got us hooked on scouring the shops for old vinyls!

Thank you to Laura for speaking with us.
