Traditional weather lore
- Hand-finished with gold leaf - Theodora will be hand-gilding each clock's artwork and clockface. Both the sunshine and clock face's bumble bee will be individually painted and gilded. No clock will be exactly the same.
- Weather lore to tell the family – Theodora's artwork is inspired by the natural world and this passion led her to research 'weather lore' - the art of weather forecasting by taking cues from nature. This clock, with its five storytelling scenes includes these oft-forgotten pieces of wisdom.
- Made to order & limited availability – Every clock ordered will be bespoke made at our workshop, giving Theodora time to hand finish each one. Their availability is seasonal, with order windows open only periodically and batch sizes no more than 25 clocks.

Hand assembled to order in Great Britain
All of the Gilded Lore Weather Clocks will be made to order at our workshop in Hampshire, England. We will take orders periodically, with their assembly in the weeks after the sales window closes. See above for current dates. -
Warrantied & Sustainable Design
All our clocks come with a full warranty as standard, extendable to two years. We’ve designed the clock for a very long life in your home. And it’s fully serviceable (if it ever needs to be) – with all the parts available with our UK-based workshop. -

Weather artwork
The illustrated scenes, inspired by Theodora's research of traditional weather lore change with the barometric air pressure. Just like the barometers of old, there are five possible weather forecasts: ‘Very Dry’, ‘Fair’, ‘Change’, ‘Rain’, and ‘Stormy’. -
Easy to hang (indoors!)
A single screw in the wall can hold the clock and you get a nifty hanging guide in the box. This clock is for indoor use only – just please don't hang it within 50cm (20 inches) of a radiator. The delicate mechanics don’t enjoy direct heat. -

Quality materials
Aluminium clock frame is hand-finished. The black coat is silky smooth. Printed vinyl clock face sits behind the anodised metal minute and hour hands. Weather artwork print is onto perspex and lightweight artboard. The clock window is shatterproof Lumex. -

Included, of course, with all clocks. -

Once neatly packed up at the workshop post-bespoke assembly, the Weather Clocks are shipped by trackable courier. If you're in the UK, delivery is in 1-2 days. -

A note on altitude
Our clocks are normally set to work at up to 180m above sea level. This design, unlike others in our range, can be manually adjusted for higher elevations. If you live above 180m, contact us here for instructions on how to adjust your clock. Find out more about clocks at altitude.

I’d wanted a BB clock for ages, once Gilded Lore was released, I knew it was the one. Now she sits, queen of her room and resplendent in her gold, adorned by Theodora, monitoring the weather and letting us know of change with her little burble, she’s a living thing. My grandparents were country people and still foretold the weather by checking the skies, whether the cows were standing or sitting, whether the swallows were high, and our clock continues in the same old way hearkening back to the way our ancestors lived and survived by studying the natural world. Few purchases continue to make us happy after the thrill of acquisition has passed, but our clock makes us happy just to look at it, it’s a library of little moments that become a part of everyday life, a happy part. We feel very fortunate to be the proud owners of something so special and supporting a British company and artists is so worthwhile.
